My daughter has been taking cooking classes and has discovered that she loves cooking. Over the summer she grew her own vegetables and used them in her meals. It is amazing to watch her explore the culinary world. Before she was ‘let loose’ in our kitchen, she enjoyed playing with pretend foods like the ones in the “Market Basket by Battat”.
The “Market Basket by Battat” comes with everything your little ‘Foodie’ needs to make a delicious meal. The set includes 1 basket, 2 cutting board, 2 knives, 1 watermelon, 1 pepper, 1 apple, 1 orange, 1 kiwi, 1 tomato, 1 cucumber, 1 banana, 1 carrot, 1 corn, 1 mushroom, 1 onion, 1 potato, 1 pear, 1 bunch of grapes, and 1 strawberry.
Each fruit or vegetable comes in two pieces held together by a piece of velcro. Your little one can have fun cutting each piece in half to prepare a delicious meal. The velcro holds some pieces very tight that makes them difficult to separate. This is a feature I haven’t seen in other sets.
The pieces aren’t to scale, the carrot is the same size as the banana, but that doesn’t affect my child’s enjoyment with the set.
The pieces can be wiped clean with gentle soap and water. Do not put them into the dishwasher.
The pieces all fit into the basket for storage, but there is no lid for the basket. For storage purposes, I would like to have a lid to prevent the pieces from falling out.
The “Market Basket by Battat” is a fun playset that will encourage little ones to explore the culinary world through play.
