Disclosure: I received a complimentary set of “Terra By Battat Farm Animals” through the Amazon Vine Program in exchange for my review. All opinions are 100% my own.
In a world where most toys are electronic, the “Terra by Battat – Farm Animals” are a welcome change. These simple plastic toys encourage imaginative play without the beeps and squeaks that electronic toys provide.
This “Terra by Battat – Farm Animals” set contains 12 different animals: Cow, Cat, Hen, Ram, Rooster, Horse, Duck, Bull, Pig, Goose, Dog and Goat. There are 5 of each animal for a total of 60 pieces.
The animals are small measuring between 1.25-2.25 inches wide and 0.75-1.5 inches high. They are not to scale, meaning that the duck, cat and cow are all the same size.
Each animal is painted to help give it a more realistic look. Some of the animals are painted better than others. The cat’s eyes, for example, are big blotchy blue messes while the ears and tips of the tail have a more realistic look.
The “Farm Animals Set” comes in a plastic container with a rope handle. The container is not very strong and cracks easily. I would suggest purchasing a small basket or tote for storage.
The animals in this set can stand on their own. There is warping on some of the animal’s legs that cause them to fall over or not stand at all. For the most part, I am able to bend these legs to allow the animal to stand but over time it will move back to its original position.
The recommended age for this playset is three years and older. Please be aware that these pieces are small and could pose a choking hazard.
There are 7 different sets to collect: Farm Animals, Sea Animals, Dinosaurs, Wild Animals, Horses, Reptiles and Tropical Fish.
The cost of these farm animals is greater than what you find at the dollar store but according to their website, these little animals go through a stringent testing process and are free from BPA, phthalate and lead. Knowing that you have a safe toy for your child is worth that added cost.
The “Terra by Battat – Farm Animal Set” is a great addition to any toy room or classroom. Use this set to teach data management skills like sorting, graphing and counting. You can find counting mats on “Teachers Pay Teachers“. Let your little one explore farm life with these animals in farm playsets or the bathtub.
The possibilities are endless, let your child’s imagination roam free!
