Disclosure: I received a complimentary tube of “Burt’s Bees Detoxifying Clay Mask” through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for my review. All opinions are 100% my own.
Finding the time and money for a clay mask facial at a spa can be difficult. Products like the “Burt’s Bees Detoxifying Clay Mask” make this luxury cost-effective and easy to do at home.
Apply the “Burt’s Bees Detoxifying Clay Mask” to a clean, dry face. Allow the mask to dry for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off.
The mask is silky smooth texture which makes it easy to apply. A little of this mask goes a long way. It has a pleasant ‘clean’ scent while it dries.
The mask is easy to remove, but very messy. In order to reduce the amount of mess I rinse it off in the shower. The charcoal will stain any cloth it comes in contact with.
I have oily skin and this mask cleans my face without over-drying and my skin is left feeling moisturized and clean. There is a pleasant scent while the mask is drying, but it does not linger after the mask is removed.
The “Burt’s Bees Detoxifying Clay Mask” has a long list of ingredients: Water, kaolin, glycerin, magnesium aluminum silicate, xanthan gum, fragrance ( natural fragrance), lauryl glucoside, helianthus annuus (sunower) seed oil, charcoal powder, euterpe oleracea fruit oil, lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) ower extract, lonicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) ower extract, polymnia sonchifolia root juice, lactobacillus, citric acid, tocopherol, maltodextrin, polyglycerin-10, polyglyceryl-10 myristate, polyglyceryl-10 stearate, sodium dehydroacetate, alpha-glucan oligosaccharide, phenoxyethanol, limonene, linalool.
I am unable to find the mask on the EWG Skin Deep Cosmetics Database, a site recommended to me by our Naturopath to learn more about the ingredients in the products I am using. I searched each individual ingredient and the majority had a low hazard rating with ‘limonene’ and ‘linalool’ having a moderate hazard rating. Without knowing what the ‘natural fragrance’ is, I am unable to determine it’s hazard rating.
Overall, I like how the “Burt’s Bees Detoxifying Clay Mask” leaves my face feeling. It feels softer and more smooth after each application without any irritation.
