Social media has changed our lives forever. One regrettable moment can be captured forever on social media and shared with millions. Before there was social media there was gossip and one word could destroy a life forever. “The Dishonorable Miss DeLancey” is the tale of Clara DeLancey a women whose reputation was destroyed by scandal.
Clara Delancey is going through a very difficult time in her life. Everything in her life is subject to gossip and none of it good. Miss Clara DeLancey was once among the most eligible of London’s high society. Heartbroken, rejected and broke Clara moves from London to the quiet of Brighton to escape the scandal that has taken over her life.
When Captain Benjamin Kemsley meets Clara, he is not looking for a wife but he cannot turn his back on the penniless Clara DeLancey. Can he protect his heart and Clara too?
The book contains adventure, jealously, kidnapping, revenge and love. It has a lesson for us all about how God answers prayer, even the prayers that are left unspoken. When we hit rock bottom we need to call out to God and He is always there waiting for us with open arms.
The author has written a good clean romance book where the Christian faith is shown in a way most people can identify with. It is the third book of the “Regency Brides: A Legacy of Grace” a series of books by Carolyn Miller. I can be read as a stand alone book, but I recommend reading the previous books to get the full impact of the series.
The author, Carolyn Miller, has created a list of discussion question that can be found on her website. These questions give the reader some things to think about after finishing the book. I love the little nuggets of insight these questions give the reader into the author’s thought process. This page also includes information about Brighton’s Royal Crescent, which was used as Clara’s home, which gives the reader more insight into the life of Clara DeLancey.
Set in London and Brighton, Ms Miller, transports you back to Regency England. You will find yourself lost in a story of redemption, love and answered prayer.
