When my kids are sick we spend a lot of time together cuddled up under blankets and sitting on the couch together. To pass the time, we love watching movies. It was no different this week when my little ones came down with the flu…again…
I popped “Missy Mila Twisted Tales” into the DVD player hoping to distract my “sicklings” from their miserable existence. My kids and I were quickly entertained by a quirky girl full of energy and enthusiasm.
Mila loves to tell her stories, adding her own twists to the classic tales we all know and love. She creatively twists them to make them her own, each one unique and unforgettable!
The movie bright and colourful. Mila is excitable and I personally find her a little obnoxious, but my kids absolutely ADORE her. We watched this movie over, and over..and did I say over…again. I was tired of it, but my kids just couldn’t seem to get enough of it.
“Missy Mila Volume 1” includes the episodes: The Hidden Princess, The Toupouloupou, Baba Yaga the Witch, Djoha’s Last Lie, Piboule and the Bear, Strabiwolf the Telltale, the Donkey and the King, The Houses of the Pig Brothers, Elvis, Captain Bloody-Nose the Pirate, The Leprechaun’s Treasure, Aurel the Mocker, Pancho Pimento’s Riddle.
My favourite is the story of the Toupouloupou, a minotaur with a sweet tooth! These movies are recommended for children 5-8, but I think everyone of all ages will enjoy them. There was an instance where I heard the word “idiot” used which I didn’t like, but it isn’t anything my children haven’t heard when I take them out to the playground in the summer.
“Missy Mila Volume 1” has quickly become the new favourite in our house. For more information on Missy Mila please visit:
