When I think of the word, Halo I think of Angels, and that is what Halo ComfortLuxe Pajamas are for me. They are my Angel Pajamas wrapping my kids up in comfort and helps them have a more peaceful sleep.
Okay, before you think I’ve completely gone off the deep end (Angel Pajamas? Really?) you have to understand a few things about me. I love my sleep. I NEED my sleep. Since my kids were born, it feels like I’ve always been running on a 1/4 tank. My kids don’t sleep. At 3 and 1 they still get up at least twice a night each.
What wakes them up? One of the biggest culprits is their skin. They both suffer from Eczema and would wake up scratching throughout the night. My littlest suffers the worst from it. He would end up with cracked and bleeding skin.
The doctor’s recommended cotton pajamas and bedding and prescribed a cream for us to use. We did this, but didn’t see a noticeable difference in the kids skin. The cotton pajamas would simply absorb the creams from the kid’s skin and leave the pj’s feeling wet and sticky. The moisture the cotton pajamas held seemed to irritate their skin more than if I just let them sleep in their diapers.
In comes the Halo ComfortLuxe pajamas. They don’t absorb the creams from their skin much at all. Both my kids seem to be so much happier and more comfortable in their Halo pajamas. The pajamas stayed dryer and less sticky than their cotton counterparts. They have been awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the National Eczema Association.
Since I am not the one wearing the pajamas I decided to put them to the test. I rubbed the same amount of cream onto the tops of my hands. I rubbed them each six times, the left hand with the Halo ComfortLuxe and the right with regular Cotton pj’s. I then asked 4 different people which hand felt softer. All four chose my left hand, which was the hand I used the Halo ComfortLuxe Pajamas to wipe the cream off with.
The next test I tried was to test it’s wicking power. Wicking is the ability of a fabric to transport moisture. The objective is to wick moisture away from your skin to the outer layer for faster evaporation. I took the sleeves of a regular cotton top and the sleeves of the Halo ComfortLuxe and hung them in equal amount of water for 30 seconds. The Halo ComfortLuxe wicked the moisture up the sleeve twice as fast as the cotton pajamas.
The third and final test I did was to test how fast it dried when wet. I took my wet pajamas and soaked them a little more. I wrung them out and then used the hair dryer on high heat to dry them. The Halo ComfortLuxe and beat out the cotton pajamas by drying faster.
The Halo ComfortLuxe pajamas are well constructed. The pajamas fit snugly, in the arms and legs, but are comfortably loose around the waist. They have no tags and the seems are flat, making them incredibly comfortable for the kids. The elastic waist is soft and doesn’t roll like many of the pajamas we have. The legs have soft bands (like t-shirts) around them so they don’t ride up much when the kids are sleeping. They also wash like a dream. They hold their colour well and hold their shape even when put in the dryer. The pajamas help regulate body temperatures which is great since the temperatures in my kids rooms can fluctuate. I find that my kids stay comfortable at night. They don’t wake up in puddles of sweat anymore.
My kids sleep better on the nights they are wearing the Halo Comfort Luxe pajamas during Eczema flair ups. We put the pajamas on my son for a week and started him on a probiotic and his eczema has cleared up. The Halo ComfortLuxe pajamas doesn’t irritate their skin. We don’t wear them every night, but when the kids have flair ups these are the first things I reach for in their wardrobe. The kids are so much more comfortable that they sleep better at night. They still wake up, but they aren’t as cranky and miserable when they do. They fall asleep much faster which means, this mama gets a better night’s sleep thanks to my “Angel” pajamas.
